On February 4, the Head of the NA My Step Faction Lilit Makunts met with Felix Hett, the director of the Friedrich Ebert Stiftung/Foundation (FES) South Caucasus Office and the employees of Armenia and Georgia Offices.

Lilit Makunts highlighted the activity of the Foundation aimed at the development of democracy in our country. The Head of the Faction touched upon the proportionality of the forces represented in the National Assembly as a result of extraordinary parliamentary elections, noting that the Standing Committee had already been formed and in the future the executive body would present to the parliament its activity programme and the item on the change of the Government structure.

Lilit Makunts talked about the works to be done and programmes in the future by the faction led by her in the National Assembly and highlighted the complete use of the accountability and oversight tools by the parliament.

The Head of the parliament answered the guests’ questions, which related to the legislative initiatives, economic reforms, the constructive cooperation with the opposition and the expectations of the society.

The speaker has noted that the Faction is engaged with establishing the priorities of the legislative initiatives, and particularly amendments are designed to be made in the RA Tax Code.

The sides referred to the issues on further cooperation between the Faction and Foundation.
